Recording the new, 2nd, album!

I’m recently back from the studio where I’ve been finishing off the recording of my second album. This time around I had decided to do the recording in two five-day session, the first in January and the second during February just gone. It’s a tricky balance between, on the one hand, giving yourself enough time between recording stints to be able to take a step back and reflect well on what you’ve done (and recover!), and on the other hand not leaving too long so that the sessions and music feel disconnected.

A Year's retrospective and what's to come

With it being just over a year since my debut album, Rags & Robes, was officially released I thought it might be a good point to do a wee retrospective, a recap on the year gone for me. Cliché or not, it’s difficult to believe it’s been just a year since then – it seems like a hell of a lot longer to me.

I’ve had a busy but great summer – though it seems a long time ago now – playing at quite a number of festivals as well as the usual club and concert dates.

Scots Trad Awards

Hello Everyone! I'm dead chuffed to announce that I've been nominated for the 'Up and Coming' category of the MG Alba Scots Trad Music Awards.
